Lon C. Alexander, III
Lonnie is the third generation of Alexander’s to lead ACCI. He began his full time career with ACCI in 1985 after leaving Auburn University and has had hands on experience in every aspect of the company, from equipment operator to corporate officer. This hands on experience has afforded him the experience and understanding necessary to relate to both his employees and customers and to be a successful leader as President of ACCI. His belief that if you “Do what you say you’re going to do from day one and respect the clients project as if it were your own” has earned him the respect of ACCl’s customers. Lonnie served on the board for the GHCA and currently serves on the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Columbus and Phenix City.
JAMES O. KELLY
Vice President Operations
James has 35 years’ experience with Alexander Contracting Company, Inc. based in Columbus, GA in earthwork site development, highway construction, and large equipment purchasing and maintenance. He provides leadership for on-job location operations and equipment management. He makes critical decisions concerning development, construction, employment, staffing, safety, and equipment (inventory, repair, purchasing) for daily operations. He also negotiates with outside vendors and sub-contractors. His career knowledge and experience involves residential, commercial, industrial, government, institutional, and military infrastructures as well as state and federal highway construction. James directs to completion the services needed for these infrastructures and meets with other leaders in the company for planning and setting goals in order to provide quality customer service and promote company growth.
Chief Financial Officer
Raines’ was a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia from September 1987 until December, 2013. He received his BA in Accounting from Columbus State University and his Master of Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama. He has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Alexander Contracting Co., Inc. since October, 1996. Raines has thirty-three years of experience in all phases of construction accounting, tax preparation, job costing and financial analysis. He is married to Sally Jordan and they have three children and five grandchildren.
Sherry joined our team in 2005 as Human Resource Manager and was promoted to Controller in 2017. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Troy University, and has over 29 years of experience in Accounting/Human Resource Management. She manages all aspects of Accounting and Human Resources for ACCI and provides leadership and support for office personnel. She provides support for the Project Managers/Estimators and assist with contracts and billing.
Jess Calhoun has 39 years of service in construction related fields, 27 of those years were in the material supply side of the industry (Concrete Pipe, Precast Concrete, Ready Mix Concrete Along with Sand and Gravel) from a trainee to a general manager. The past 12 years have been with Alexander Contracting Inc. in the capacity of an estimator and project manager.
Tommy has been with ACCI since 2002. He began as a construction layout Crew Chief. While working with ACCI, he has advanced his career to include the positions of Foreman and Job Superintendent, Project Manager, and now currently holds’ the position of General Superintendent. His 17 years of experience in both the field and office has given Tommy the capability to manage his position well. Tommy’s responsibilities include the purchasing of supplies and materials, working with sub-contractors, and serving as the communication link between general contractors and field personnel. He ensures all projects are adequately supplied with man power and equipment. He acts as a liaison between the owners and general contractors, and tracks the production of each project, ensuring they are on schedule and within budget. Along with his current role, Tommy also oversees the operation and maintenance of all GPS equipment operated by ACCI. Tommy graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelors of Science degree.
Ryan has been with ACCI since June of 2016. He began as an assistant learning the ins and outs of sitework with a seasoned field superintendent. His construction knowledge and ability to learn quickly has aided him in picking up on this trade easily. After gaining experience in the field, he was moved into the office to assume an estimator’s role. His responsibilities consist of taking off all projects to bid, acquiring all documents and plans, and assembling proposals. Ryan continues to establish and maintain relationships with material suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, developers, and engineering firms.
